Well done Leicester: Diversity works

Not only did my home town football club-Leicester city- do the impossible by winning the premier league, but they also did it with perhaps the most diverse team in the Europe.

Much has been said about just how little this team cost compared to the big clubs, but very little has been written about the rich diversity of this title winning team.

Six of the eleven players that started on Sunday against Manchester United were Black or Asian, including footballer of the Riyad Mahrez, captain Wes Morgan, the irrepressible N'Golo Kanté, the ‘Duracell man' Shinji Okazaki , Danny Simpson and Jeffrey Schlupp.

And we mustn’t forget Damaria Gray who came on as substitute. Congratulations to them and the whole team.

By winning the title you put a smile on the footballing world with the simple mantra-anything’s possible. But also if anyone should look a bit deeper too, we could also say: Diversity works
