Chuka Umunna - rising Parliamentary star

LabourList have tweeted today that Chuka Umunna has been promoted from his role as Parliamentary Private Secretary for Labour leader Ed Miliband to Shadow Business Minister.

Commenting on his new role, Chuka tweeted the following:

"Am deeply honoured and grateful to be appointed to serve as Shadow Business Minister in John Denham's Shadow BIS team by @Ed_Miliband today."

Elected barely a year ago the young MP from Streatham has impressed his peers (apparently he was asked for specifically by the Shadow Business Secretary John Denham) and observers alike with a strong grasp of economics leading to the eye catching performances on the Treasury Select Committee earlier this year; he’s recently been laying out the foundation for a new vision for the party with a his ideas on One Nation Labour.
