Asian police officers cleared of fraud

Bradford police officer Kashif Ahmed, 33, and his co-accused, Shamim Khan, 47, dramatically had all charges against them dismissed by a Judge at Bradford Crown Court after revelations about the way officers from West Yorkshire police force investigated the case.

Both officers were charged with fraud and deception.

In an astonishing attack that will have serious ramifications both for West Yorkshire Police force and Muslim communities in the area the Judge Benson stated there was, “very significant irregularity and impropriety at the root of the investigation” and the whole process was “tarnished” and “an affront to justice”.

Kashif Ahmed, who always pleaded his innocence and was supported by groups such as Black Police Association, Just West Yorkshire, and Suresh Grover, was suspended by of his duties whilst the trial was pending.

The two officers  were badly affected by the whole procedure. Mr Ahmed intends to go on a pilgrimage and take some time to reflect.
