Young Muslim girl attacked for wearing hijab

A young Iranian Muslim girl has reported that she was attacked after refusing to remove her hijab by four young British women on her way home from school.

The incident occurred last week when Zahra Kazemi Saleh a member of the Islamic Student Association was attacked in broad daylight and suffered facial injuries.

London's Muslim Student Council condemned the attack and ‘blamed the British government for supporting the spread of Islamophobic opinions in the country’.

A spokesperson for the Council told Press TV: “The Muslim Student Council strongly condemns this heinous Islamophobic crime of hatred and ignorance. Furthermore, we demand the Home office to take action to bring the attackers to justice and sentence them accordingly and set an example in the society in order to get the message out there that such crimes are not tolerated in a Multicultural society”.

The attack follows the French ban prohibiting Muslim citizens from wearing the veil in public, last week.
