Missing teenager found

Teenager Serena Breakhurst has been found and is well after a three week disappearance police reported today.

Last week well known public figures such as Stephen Fry, Rio Ferdinand and Sarah Brown joined a social media campaign to help find a missing teenager last week.

Serena Beakhurst, (14) from Tulse Hill, south London disappeared after attending a college course in south London on December 15.

The tenageer's disappearance raised concern over the limited little media attention given to the case and some sites  criticized the disproportionate media coverage given to other missing persons.

Facebook group member Leah Longoria told the Sun: 'There is no evidence to suggest Serena has run away from a loving and stable home. Serena's community feels that there is a distinct lack of care and attention by police.'

The Met said: 'We take every missing person case extremely seriously and dedicate relevant resources.'

Serena’s family and friends  started a Facebook group to publicise their efforts to find her and Twitter users such as Rio Ferdinand and Stephen Fry lending their support to the search.

Fry tweeted yesterday: 'Missing Serena Beakhurst since 15 dec.'

And former prime minister Gordon Brown's wife Sarah wrote: 'Wouldn't it be great if Twitter could help find missing Serena Beakhurst?'

Other celebrity Twitter users to retweeted messages about Serena's case include Hot Fuzz star Simon Pegg and Little Britain's Matt Lucas.
