Ed Miliband: New Labour Leader

Congratulations to the New Labour leader Ed Miliband.

This was an extraordinary victory given that his brother David Miliband was ahead throughout the Labour leadership campaign and throughout the count until the last round. But won he has and richly deserved.

Labour members have made their choice. They want the party to move closer to it's working class roots, and make a clear distinction from the coalition parties.

Our small organisation played an important non partisan role, not just by interviewing all the candidates, putting the questions that you wanted answered, but more importantly by urging Diane Abbot to run. There is no doubt that this indomitable campaigner radically changed the debate not just in terms of race and gender, but also on the key issue of immigration. In his acceptance speech the new leader applauded her inclusion stating that the party needed her voice.

In less than six months British politics has undergone the most dramatic change in a very short space of time. Our communities must play a key role with all the parties at every level.

But now lets congratulate a new young leader Ed Miliband.
