Political leaders make final plea to BME voters

The political leaders have responded to you!

The collective work of 20 BME organisations, which has included writing a race equality manifesto; undertaking research highlighting the power of the Black vote; and the voter registration campaign with OBV’s media partner, Saatchi & Saatchi, has ensured many more thousands have engaged and registered to vote, along with persuading political leaders to directly respond to BME issues.

Of course, highlighting the data that clearly shows BME communities will have a huge say in the vast majority of the 50 most marginal seats in the country clearly helps. Political candidates and their relative success, along with who has the keys to Downing St, could depend upon which way the BME electorate votes.

Today, we will launch all three political statements written by the Leaders in their last bid to win your vote.

Our engagement to force change is vitally important before, during and after these elections. Read their statements, and other information, decide which one is closest to your values and vote this Thursday.

The first statement will come from the Prime Minister Theresa May at 1330 this afternoon, followed by Jeremy Corbyn at 1430, and Tim Farron at 1530...
