Swaminarayan School wins education award
At a time when many schools around the country are feeling the pressure to deliver high quality education a school in Neasden North London has just won a prestigious education award for producing high quality work and encouraging their pupils to achieve their best.
The Swaminarayan Prep School, in Brentfield Road, Neasdon, caters for pupils under 11, has been handed the National Association for Able Children in Education (NACE) Award.
The award celebrates work by schools and their staff including teachers and governors.
The prep school’s head teacher Umeshchandra Raja was presented with the award by guests including Paralympic swimmer David Hill and former student and current Brent councillor Cllr Krupa Sheth, at a special celebration at the Neasden temple.
Head teacher Mr Raja said:
This is a wow factor for us to be recognized like this and is testament to our student’s hard work. We provide a programme for pupils to progress regardless of their ability and believe in an all rounded education. We always aim to raise standards at all levels of the school through parents staff and teachers – this is the beginning of a journey.”
Speaking at the ceremony, on Thursday, February 28, Cllr Sheth said:
I would like to congratulate all these young talented people and the teachers on their hard work. It is a pleasure to know that the school has been accredited with the NACE challenge award.
Cllr Sheth is Brent’s youngest ever councillor when she was elected to the Wembley Central ward aged 20, in December 2011, added:
I would like to take this opportunity to commend every single person connected to this school for making it what it is today.”
OBV would like to congratulate the staff, the school Governors and of course the pupils.
