OBV to help train minority leaders from across Europe and the USA

On Sunday, April 22, a group of more than 60 young elected political and civil society minority leaders will gather in Copenhagen, Denmark for the 2012 Transatlantic Inclusion Leaders Conference.

Co-sponsored by Copenhagen’s Mayor for Integration, the Danish-Ethnic Youth Council, the U.S. Department of State, and the German Marshall Fund, this event, which is supported by the Transatlantic Minority Political Leadership Conference, presents an opportunity to strengthen relations between emerging minority leaders in the United States and Europe.

Over the course of three days, participants – representing more than 20 different countries – will investigate the challenges facing minority leaders on both sides of the Atlantic as well as exchange best practices to overcome these challenges.

As a founder member of the Transatlantic Minority Political leadership Conference, OBV was invited to lend its experience in nurturing young Black and minority ethnic talent.

OBV’s Director Simon Woolley who’ll be there for the three days stated:

It’s a great honour to be help develop and inspire the next generation of Black leaders. I hope when they leave after the three days, these young men and women will be better equipped and greatly inspired to deliver social and racial justice for their communities and beyond.
