Muslim graves and Mosque desecrated with racist graffiti
Racists in Newport South Wales desecrated four Muslim gravestones in Christchurch Cemetery.
Vandals daubed ‘Lee Rigby murder’, along with swastikas on the gravestones. They also wrote the initials of the UK Independence Party (UKIP), the National Front (NF) and the British National Party (BNP).
On a separate incident racist graffiti including swastikas has been sprayed on the walls of a Redditch mosque.
The damage at the Jinnah Road building, which is still under construction and which has previously been targeted by offenders, was caused between 2am and 4.30am last Wednesday.
And only last week in perhaps the most serious incident since Lee Rigby’s murder a home made bomb was found near a mosque in Walsall. The bomb exploded and fortunately no one was injured and minimal damage was caused.
All this comes at a time when a new report shows that since 9/11, more than half of the UK’s Mosques have been attacked, with a definite spike since Lee Rigby’s death.
Muslim leaders are urging the Government and the Police to ensure communities are protected and perpetrators are brought to book.
